~ Happy New Year ~

Today on SCS  Dawn challenged us to make a card depicting one of our New Years resolutions! This one depicts two. One is to send more birthday cards and one is to be more thankful for my blessings!

The Rubbernecker's sentiment was stamped and then cut out using a Spellbinder's diecut and the fabulous Spellbinder's Grand Calibur diecut machine. The Grand Calibur is a dream to use. It is so, so easy to use and cuts and embosses like a dream. There is no guessing about which plates to use, they are all marked. The flower was made using a McGill flower and leaf punches. The lovely dp is Websters Pages.

Our New Years tradition is to have blackeyed peas, turnip greens and cornbread on New Years day. What do you usually have on New Years day?

I wish you blessings, health and happiness in the New Year.

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!

Good morning everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
We had twelve family and friends for Christmas dinner. We have a new baby in the family so that made it even more special.

It is time for ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge(SNTODBD25)! The assignment is Our Daily Bread Designs stamps. Chrissy Dickinson is our challenge host this rotation. Chrissy is challenging us to "Ring in the New!" The theme can be interpreted in many ways, such as.....new stuff, new year, new baby, new home! Or, the focus is can be on ring and think circular items. Ring can also be about music. All forms of celebration ideas like Birthday, Anniversay, etc. are there. Lots of possibilities. We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

Please see ODBD's Blog  for all the details!

Since it is almost the new year, I chose to use new beginnings as my theme. My card could be used as a wedding , anniversary or just a reminder of how we should love one another. I think I need to read this scripture everyday as a reminder that love is:

patient, kind, it does not envy, or boast, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking or easily angered, love protects, always trusts, always hopes,

After stamping the scripture I stippled using blush blossom and really rust. A Tim Holtz die cut was used for the added swirls. The background panel was scored using a Scor-Pal and then paper pierced. Ribbon, beads and tiny rose buds were added to the main panel!

We hope you will play along with us!
Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!

Good morning everyone!

It's Saturday and time for another Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge (38)!

"Anything but a card!"

I know I get in a rut of only making cards. I will admit I am not good at projects. To my surprise I really enjoyed this and am very pleased with the results.

To make the challenge even more fun, Kelley (owner) will be giving a  $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, Noverber 18th. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

~ Here is my project ~

The tutorial for this can be found HERE! All the panels were embossed using Sizzix E/F and distressed using Tim Holtz distress inks. The lovely leaves from ODBD's "Randi's Song" were stamped, colored using the distress inks, glazed, cut out and popped up. As I said before, this took me out of my comfort zone as I am not good at doing projects. I will probably be doing lots more of these to give as gifts.

Hi everyone!

It is time for ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge (SNTODBD22)!

The assignment is Our Daily Bread Design stamps. Lori Ulrich is our challenge host.

It is the time here in the states where many people are starting to break out their winter clothing and warm furnishings to prepare for cooler temperatures. Lori is challenging us to think QUILTS. You can create quilted patterns with designer paper, use actual fabrics, create dimension with puff paints, foam dots, or other medium, or even add some stitches real or faux in a variety of frames or patterns. You can also think applique. The main thing is to think QUILTS. If it is used in the designing of a quilt, it works. We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

Please see ODBD's Blog for all the details!

Here is my quilt!

The quilt was made using 2" X 2" squares of d/p glued to card stock and then cut out using SU Top Note. I then added faux stitching using a pen. The lovely ODBD's Blessed Christmas was stamped, cut out using the die cut especially made for this image and colored using copic markers. Pearls were added to the center of the poinsettia. The background was embossed using Sizzix E/F!

Please check out what some of the other talented ODBD Design Team have created!

We hope you will play along with us!
Thanks for stopping by!

~Just a note ~
My Mom was admitted to the hospital after having a mild heart attack. She has been staying with my brother in Georgia. We will be heading out tomorrow, so except for some scheduled post I will not be around for awhile. Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks, blessing and hugs!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Happy Sunday everyone!

Ummm, I think winter is here. I had to get my long winter coat out to wear to church this morning. The temp. was in the 30's, brrrrrrr. What's really funny is that I still have flowers blooming.

This card is for two challenges:

Over at Marks Finest Paper's , Harriet is challenging us to paper pierce our creation.

It is also for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.

The lovely MFP's "A Walk In the Woods" was stamped and colored using copic markers. Tiny crystals were added to the tree. The snow was added using gel pen and then embossed with clear e/p. The sun and sky were stippled in. Spellbinders Nesties were used to frame the image. The background was embossed using cuttlebug and c/b e/f.

Hope you have a fabulous day.
Thanks for stopping by! Blessings and hugs!

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Good morning everyone!

It's time for another ODBDSLC36!

Today we are challenging you to use gold or silver cording, craft hemp or string. We hope we will get you to think outside the box and get creative. I know I usually use ribbon, pearls or crystals. I will admit I really had to think about this one! Especially the one using the string.

To make the challenge even more fun, Kelley (owner) will be giving a $15.00 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at Our Daily Bread Designs store. Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, Nov. 11th at 8:00 PM EST.  One random winner will be chosen and announced next saturday.

Please see ODBD's Blog for all the details!

Here are my creations:

For this one I chose to use string. The ODBD's "Fishers of Men" was colored using copic markers, cut out and framed using  Spellbinder's Nesties! I also stippled the oval with blues and creams. The background panel was also stippled and the sky was sponged in using a homemade  templete (torn cardstock). Of course, the string was used as the fishing line holding the fish.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The next creation is a CASE of one of my cards I made about a week ago. I chose to use gold cord.

The lovely ODBD's "Blessed Christmas" and "Die Cut" was used for this creation. I stamped the poinsettia twice, colored using copics and cut out using ODBD die cut. I popped up one flower over the other to add depth. Pearls were added to the center. I cut pine boughs using M/S punch and placed on either side of the image. The frame was embossed using Spellbinder's Nestie.  Ribbon and gold cord were added.

Please stop by and check out what the other talented ODBDCT have created:

We thank everyone that played last week!

We hope you will play along with us! We would love to see your creations!

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Hi everyone! Hope you have had a beautiful day and that everyone got out to vote!

Before I get started, I want to share something that happened to me yesterday. Hopefully it will keep it from happening to someone else!

I was all set to play in Holly's challenge yesterday, when a big ugly virus invaded my screen! A box with a big "Warning A Trojun Virus has attached your computer". I tried calling my son, but he was not available at that time. So ol' smarty pants thinks she can handle this one by herself. "NOT" Thank goodness when I got to a certain point things just didn't look right. It did get in. Attached an Icon to my desktop and some files. My computer genius son was able to run  a program and got rid of it before major problems occured. So the moral to the story is if something flashes on your screen telling you that a trojun virus is attacking your computer, chances are that is the virus and you should delete, delete, delete!

This is for two challenges over on SCS. The color challenged hosted by Mary and the TLC hosted by Holly!

The main panel was first stippled using SU's really rust, choc chip and pumpkin pie. I also masked to get the moon effect. Then stamped using Rubbrenecker's sentiment. After following Holly's tutorial to emboss several times using clear embossing powder I stamped The lovely Rubbernecker's image and embossed using black e/p. Love this tech. Paper pierced the bordering layer. The background was embossed using a Sizzix E/F and cuttlebug!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a marvelous evening!  Hugs!

The tag was stamped, colored using copics and cut out using the Die cut especially designed for cutting out this image! I stamped the tag again colored and cut out the poinsettia and popped it up! The background was embossed using a Sizzix E/F. Tiny crystals were to the background! The popped up flower, the embossed background and the added crystals were what I used for texture!

Happy Thursday everyone!

It's time for another ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge! (SNTODBD21)

The assignment is Our Daily Bread Design stamps. The challenge is to use your favorite embellishment. There are so many embellishments to play with and use on our cards, but to pick just one that is your absolute favorite can be difficult. Now, more embellishments can be used on your card or project, but you need to make it obvious that the one product that is your favorite one is used most! We would love to see what you create using ODBD stamps!

Please see ODBD Blog for all the details!

My favorite embellishments to use on a card are bows and bling.

I used the beautiful ODBD "Blessed Christmas" and the ODBD diecut is especially made to cut out this image! The image was stamped twice, colored using copic markers, and cut out using ODBD's diecut. I popped one flower over the other for more depth!
The background frame was embossed using  Spellbinders Nestabilities. Several crystals were added to the flower center and the greenery.

Please stop by and check out what some of the other ODBD Design Team have created!

We hope you will play along!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day! Hugs!

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was good. I went to a baby shower Sunday afternoon! Goodness, I bet the baby has more clothes than I do! I never saw so many little outfits, shoes etc. I think the mom is fixed for at least the baby's first year.

This is for todays SCS CAS CHALLENGE!

A Spellbinder's Nestie was used to create the embossed frame. The lovely MFP "Greetings of the Season" image was stamped just inside the frame and colored using copics and prisma pencils with gamosol. Tiny crystals were added to the pine boughs.

I usually don't do well doing CAS cards, but I am very pleased with this one! Love the simplicity of this!

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!

Happy Thursday everyone and

~ ~ ~HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELLEY~ ~ ~

Today is Kelley's Birthday! The sticks in the bread basket have put together a little blog hop just for her, and for our ODBD followers!

Today, we have created cards showing some of the older Our Daily Bread designs sets! We are sending these to Kelley to use on her boards in the Our Daily Bread designs booth. Being under the lights and packed and unpacked week after week takes it's toll on the card samples she has, so it's good to update from time to time.

Here are some cards that I created!

This is ODBD's "Happy Birthday"

Happy sunday everyone!

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend! Wow! I can't believe we have had two whole days below 90 degrees! Yesterday we had a little outing with some friends. We drove to a little town in Indiana and enjoyed a delightful lunch and a little sightseeing! Since hubby's eye surgery (detached retina) I have been the chauffeur for the past month. DH won't be able to drive for at least another month! His eye sight is getting better everyday. We are truly thankful for that.

I have been negligent in posting some of my cards. So I thought I would do one big posting today!

My first card is for todays Featured Stamper Sallie (hobbydejour)! A well deserved honor! Sallie has a gorgeous gallery!

Thee lovely Rubbernecker  image was colored using SU markers, spritzed with water and stamped. I then embossed image using a versapen and clear embossing powder! The image was cut out and framed using Spellbinders Nesties. The background was embossed using a Sizzix e/f. The decorative border was done using a Spellbinder's diecut! TFL!

This was for Jeannie's F4A31 challenge to use scallops!
This was also to honor Carla (cmsuto)! Anne Ryan's QFTD28 Challenge!
Carla is not only a talented stamper, she is one of the sweetest on SCS.

The lovely trees are from Rubbernecker's "Evergreen Tree Set". After stamping trees they were colored using copics and then embossed using a versamark pen and clear embossing powder. The background was stippled and the sun was done using a 3/4" punch to make template. Spellbinder's Nesties were used for scalloped frame and Spellbinder's diecut was used to scallop the border!

Julia challenged us to create a holiday card! I chose to do a Christmas Card.

I had more fun creating this sweet card. I think it would be perfect for a little one for Christmas!

The cute image is Rubbernecker's  "Elf Train"! I stamped the image twice and colored with copics. I then cut the front of the second stamped train apart an popped it up.

Thanks for stopping by! It's always good to see you! Hugs!
