Good morning everyone!
It's time for another ODBDSLC36!
Today we are challenging you to use gold or silver cording, craft hemp or string. We hope we will get you to think outside the box and get creative. I know I usually use ribbon, pearls or crystals. I will admit I really had to think about this one! Especially the one using the string.
To make the challenge even more fun, Kelley (owner) will be giving a $15.00 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at Our Daily Bread Designs store. Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, Nov. 11th at 8:00 PM EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next saturday.
Please see ODBD's Blog for all the details!
Here are my creations:
For this one I chose to use string. The ODBD's "Fishers of Men" was colored using copic markers, cut out and framed using Spellbinder's Nesties! I also stippled the oval with blues and creams. The background panel was also stippled and the sky was sponged in using a homemade templete (torn cardstock). Of course, the string was used as the fishing line holding the fish.

The next creation is a CASE of one of my cards I made about a week ago. I chose to use gold cord.
The lovely ODBD's "Blessed Christmas" and "Die Cut" was used for this creation. I stamped the poinsettia twice, colored using copics and cut out using ODBD die cut. I popped up one flower over the other to add depth. Pearls were added to the center. I cut pine boughs using M/S punch and placed on either side of the image. The frame was embossed using Spellbinder's Nestie. Ribbon and gold cord were added.
Please stop by and check out what the other talented ODBDCT have created:
We thank everyone that played last week!
We hope you will play along with us! We would love to see your creations!
Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and blessings!

Both of these are stunning Fran, and I LOVE the dimension on the second card. A true beauty!!! And I think I need that pine bough punch! Awesome! Also, sorry I didn't make it by last week. I rushed from teaching a Bible class to rushing Sugar to the vet. It was a rough 8 days with her. Have a blessed week ahead!!! :)
Beautiful cards Fran! The string on the first one is the perfect touch. The gold cord on the second is a beautiful accent with the ribbon!
Wow, Fran, these are perfect. I like the first card a lot. I love that part of the Bible. I have never seen this stamp colored in brights, only in sand, and wheat type colors. I really like it colored the way you have it. After all, that is what real life is! I thought it was so creative for you to use the string to hold the fish! Perfect!
I love the elegance of the second card. I love the dimension you achieved by using more than once cut of the poinsettia! It is beautiful! I love the large sentiment! And, that is still one of your bows! :D I like the way you added the cording right to it.
Technical Question:
Do you tie both bows together? Or do you make them separately and attach them together? Thank you for answering if you have the time. I am at He IS Able or SCS all of the time. Or, I think Blogger shows my email. Thank you, Sweetie!
