Hi everyone!

It's Saturday and time for another Our Daily Bread Designs Shining The Light Challenge!

Todays challenge is to use embedded embossing on your creation!

To use embedded embossing, you punch out shapes or cut layers or strips out and then adhere them to your card base piece. Once adhered, place the entire layer in an embossing folder of your choice and emboss both the punched out shapes-layers-strips and the base piece all together. The result looks like seamless embossing … you have just embedded your shapes/layers to the card base.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving  a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, May 12. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, you must use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by May 12 at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword  ODBDSLC59. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

This is what I created for this challenge!

Our Daily Bread Designs Sing to the Lord was stamped several times, colored using Copic Markers and cut out! For my "embedded embossing" I used two Spellbinders Lables Eighteen Nestibilities! After stamping the sentiment from With Heartfelt Sympathy, I glued the two diecuts together along with some of the cut out flowers and embossed using SU Basket Weave E/F. The bird image was popped up over the embedded embossing! The background was done using a Sizzix E/F.

Please stop by to see what our talented ODBD Challenge Team have created and leave them a comment!

We hope you will play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Hugs!

Hi Fran,

This is so beautiful! I love the colors and I surely love this technique! And, it looks extra special with part of the bow not embossed!

I need to discuss something with you, and can not find your email anywhere now. Will you please email me?
I really appreciate it. It is about something of yours.
